A bright, garlicky tartar sauce built around Yes We Can! Garlic Dill Pickles.
Garlic Dill Pickle Tartar Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup Yes We Can! Garlic Dill Pickle, finely diced (or the half-pint charcuterie dice)
- 1 Tbsp pickle brine (from the jar)
- 1 Tbsp yellow onion or shallot, finely minced
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- ¼ tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- Pinch kosher salt, to taste
Directions
- If starting from spears or chips rather than the pre-diced charcuterie size, finely dice the Garlic Dill Pickles into small, even pieces.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and pickle brine until smooth.
- Fold in the diced pickles, minced onion, and chopped parsley. Season with black pepper and a pinch of salt, then taste and adjust.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
Hostess Tip: Because the pickles already carry garlic and dill flavor, you likely won't need extra of either — taste before adding anything more. Great with fried fish, crab cakes, or Gary's Fresh Catch-seasoned seafood.
